Day 1 (40 km)
Please arrive at our office at 9:00 in the morning, so we can brief you and prepare the e-bikes. You will pack what you need in waterproof bike bags and leave extra stuff with us. When everything is ready, your electric bike adventure can begin. Head west along the Espoo Waterfront Cycleway, just meters from the Baltic Sea. Hard to believe you are still inside metropolitan Helsinki; this is world class cycling. Enjoy the beaches and cafes on the way. In the afternoon, ride through countryside to Långvik Wellness Hotel and experience the food, saunas, pools and spa treatments. What a first day!
Day 2 (50 km)
Enjoy an excellent breakfast, then hop on your e-bike and continue west along the coast. At Pikkala, you can make a small detour and try kayaks or canoes in the river delta. Stop in Degerby Deli for refreshments and sit outside this cosy little cafe and enjoy the peaceful summer day. Nearby, about 50m, is Igor Museum, which tells the story of the brief but sad Soviet occupation of these parts after the war. Cycle along quiet roads in typical Finnish countryside until you reach Inkoo area and a very nice bed&breakfast. In the evening you can check the small boat harbour.
Day 3 (50 km)
Now the route takes you to Fagervik manor and old ironworks. The surroundings are peaceful and idyllic, with a nice cafe also. Then continue to Snappertuna and see the old church and castle. This is one of the Finnish National Landscapes. In the evening you’ll arrive in Tammisaari seaside town, a really lively place in summer. Wander through the streets of Barckens Udde, with protected 18-19th century buildings. Smell the sea breeze by the beach. Overnight in Tammisaari.
Day 4 (60 km)
Say goodbye to Tammisaari and ride along the coast to Tenhola village. They have a good lunch restaurant and a very interesting village shop, where you can actually buy cheeses from the local cheese factory. Pack some cheese and bread in your bags for the afternoon, as there will be no more services in the remote countryside. It’s also a good idea to top off your e-bike battery here. Next you’ll cycle mostly along empty gravel roads in the countryside. The best part is just before Mathildedal. Quiet and well-maintained forest tracks lead you to the “hipster-capital” of Finland, with cafes, bakery, brewery and chocolate factory. Enjoy your evening!
Day 5 (35 km)
There are many old ironworks villages in these parts, from the industrialisation era. Next one is Teijo, with old mansions and Teijo National Park. It’s nice to cycle around the village. Kirjakkala has also long traditions, you can admire the buildings and ironworks related old infrastructure. There’s a nice swimming place by Kirjakkala B&B. End your bike tour in Salo town and catch the afternoon train back to Helsinki. Hand over the e-bikes at our office.
