Turku Archipelago E-Bike Tour
Archipelago, summer and e-bikes. We like! This tour starts with a beautiful boat ride from Turku to Nauvo island. Sit back and smell the Baltic Sea breeze. Continue your journey from island to island, using ferries along the way. Don’t hurry, distances are not long and there is much to see. After a long and dark winter, these islands really bloom into life in summer time.

Day 2 (30km) After a good breakfast, pack your e-bikes and cycle down to the river. From here starts your first boat ride, down the river and into the Baltic Sea. Enjoy the lush island scenery. After a few hours you will arrive in Nauvo harbour. It is a lively place and worth a leisurely walk. Continue west along quiet gravel roads. Visit Tackork berry farm, specialised in hand-made gourmet berry products. Then take a ferry (continuous) to Korppoo island. There are restaurants in town centre and in Verkan harbour. Overnight in Nauvo or Korppoo.
Day 3 (40 km) Ferry to Houtskär island leaves from Galtby harbour. There is small kiosk if you have to wait a bit. The crossing is about 30 min. Houtskär is actually a group of islands with Näsby being the main village. There you will find a restaurant, grocery and beach. Visit the wooden church from 1703 and sit on the old benches and imagine how life was here hundreds of years ago. For more concrete info on days gone by, visit the museum which displays household artefacts, old boats and motors. In the afternoon hop on the ferry to Iniö islands. The crossing is about 1 hour. Iniö is smaller and more remote compared to previous islands. Only 200 people live here year around. Of the 1000 small islands which comprise Iniö, only 10 are inhabited. There are some services by the yachting harbour. Mainly Iniö is about nature; cycle the small gravel roads and enjoy the varied scenery. The old boat houses and piers just ooze history of this former fishing community. Overnight in Iniö.
Day 4 (30 km) In the morning take the ferry (30min) to Kustavi. In Handicrafts Village you can walk around and see craftsmen at work. Stop in Taivassalo Museum, a renovated mansion from 18th century. It tells the story of the local community, where seafaring and fishing always set the pace of life. While waiting for your next ferry at Hakkenpää harbour, you can enjoy some drinks and food in Sahan Saluuna bar. From Teersalo, depending on accommodation, you will take a continuous ferry to Velkua island, or continue cyclig a bit further towards mainland and Turku.
Day 5 (30-45 km) This day will take you through the bigger islands of Merimasku and Luonnonmaa. Restaurant Rantamakasiini is a great place for lunch. Cross the last bridge and visit Naantali town, official summer capital of Finland. Even the president spends his summers here. It’s full of nice restaurants and cafes. In the afternoon cycle back to Turku and take the evening train back to Helsinki (Pasila station). Hand over the e-bikes at our office.
